Site-finished wood
is still a popular option for new homes, but due to the creation of
dust it is not always suitable for existing homes. For a
beautiful floor at a reasonable price, No. 1 Common Red Oak is a nice
option. It has lots of color variation and mineral streaking, as
well as some knot holes. |
Lyptus Hardwood Flooring by WeyerhaeuserLyptus by Weyerhaeuser is a renewable hardwood that comes from fast-growing Eucalyptus trees grown on well-managed plantations in South America where they thrive. These hybrid Eucalyptus trees grow to harvest size in approximately 14 to 16 years--two to three times faster than comparable hardwood species in colder climates, making them a smart, environmental choice.Click on an image for a larger view. The wood depicted was an unfinished version of Lyptus that was sanded and finished "natural" on site with three coats of polyurethane.
